For our final session of Night Studio 2018, we had dinner and a certificate ceremony, followed by portfolio reviews with guest artists/curators Shani Peters and Nectar Knuckles. Congratulations to the artists for completing the program and for all their incredible work! And thank you to our guest portfolio reviewers!

Night Studio is a program for artists working towards their TASC high school equivalency diplomas. For our fourth week of class, we explored the Fifth Floor collection after hours with guest artist Alvaro Barrington (THANKS ALVARO!). Then we learned about color mixing and created our own color wheels with primary, secondary and tertiary colors.

When you take an In the Making class, your work is shown in the annual Teen Art Show and you the get best bragging rights ever. You get to say to your friends, “Hey, I have piece showing at MoMA, come by the opening tonight.” And your friends will come and see tons of crazy-cool teens with their work and your piece will be there. You will feel awesome, your friends will buy you pizza, and your mom might cry.

For the last session of the season, OAS had a Karaoke Party with amazing food and cake made by Tali, singing, dancing and photoshoots. Thank you to every single young person who made OAS the amazing community and space that it has become.

A time lapse taken over 45 seconds of PLASTIC, a live installation by Maria Hassabi. Dancers perform from the opening to the closing of MoMA, all moving vvvvvvveeeeeeeerrrrrrrrryyyyyy slowly. Definitely something worth checking out.
