From Mobile to Margaritaville, Jimmy Buffett’s Gulf Coast roots continue to inspire. 🌊🎸

A new waterfront tribute is taking shape as nationally renowned sculptor Ben Victor creates a 7.5-foot statue honoring one of Mobile’s most beloved sons. Mobile’s shipbuilding industry is drawing international attention.

The Mobile Chamber hosted a Japanese delegation of government and industry leaders as part of a U.S. International Trade Administration-led mission focused on expanding shipbuilding and defense capabilities between Japan and the United States.

The visit gave the delegation a firsthand look at Mobile’s maritime and defense ecosystem, from advanced shipbuilding and repair to logistics and workforce capacity.

It was an opportunity to showcase why Mobile continues to play a growing role in strengthening America’s shipbuilding capacity and supporting global partnerships.
