Get ready for the ride back in time. The Dora Franklin Finley African-American Heritage Trails (DFFAAHT) primary objective is to share Mobile's multicultural legacy through the following stories:

-The early Creoles de Color
-African survivors from the Clotilda, the last slave ship to enter the US in 1860
-Newly freed blacks wh

o worshipped and built some of the oldest churches in Alabama
-African Americans who settled in an area ironically named for Jefferson Davis, Davis Avenue, which is now renamed to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave
-The Civil Rights advocates integral in the desegregation of the city's schools, private sector workforce and public offices

Through the DFFAAHT experience, participants will develop a taste for the rich gumbo of Mobile's historic past. The following are available:

1) Step on the Bus Tours- Groups may charter a private tour. A guide will board your bus and narrate the tour with a map for your driver. Cost: $40 per adult, $30 per students, $20 per seniors and children 17 and under. Book today by calling: (251) 725-2236

2) Self Driving Tours- Detailed maps and narration are accessible from the Dora Franklin African-American Heritage Trail website: www.mobilehd.org/aaht for booking instructions.

3) School Bus Tours- Bus tours are designed for 4th grade classes. Review website at www.mobilehd.org/aaht for booking instructions.

4) Downtown Walking Tours- Meet in Cathedral Square at the corner of Claiborne and Dauphin Streets. Reservations required, (251) 725-2236
