Oberheim Oddities. Here are a few pictures of the ultra rare Oberheim Studio Amplifier. This is a small, solid state amplifier with an EQ section, a distortion effect, and a phaser that sounds quite similar to the Maestro Phase Shifter.
Scroll through the pictures to hear the amp in action with a highly modified 360 Systems Spectre. The Spectre was a ‘guitar synth’ from 1977 that has an Oberheim SEM as the synthesizer voice. This Spectre has had the guitar electronics removed and replaced with a Korg Volca Sample, a Mutable Instruments Warps, and a Doboz Prizma Sequencer.
All of this is available for you here at VSM.

It’s fun, interactive and educational.
