Essig Museum of Entomology The Essig Museum of Entomology is a world-class terrestrial arthropod collection with a historical focus on surveying the insect fauna of California.

Today that focus has broadened to include the eastern Pacific Rim and the islands of the Pacific Basin.

Over 300 people visited the Essig Museum during our Darwin (Evolution) Day tours on February 13 and 14. Besides our favorite insect and spider cases, we displayed specimens from the UC Botanical Garden, UC & Jepson Herbaria, UC Museum of Paleontology, and Museum of Vertebrate Zoology.
