In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, come experience the Revolutionary War in a lively musical journey with the Pennyroyal Players!

Through original songs, stories, letters, humor and authentic dances, they bring the Revolution to life- from the first shot of the war to the Declaration of Independence and the signing of the Treaty of Paris.

This lecture is FREE for Friends of Banning Museum members and $5 at the door for non-members. PARKING IS ON THE STREET.

In the heart of Wilmington sits a little-known treasure, The Banning Museum. Phineas Banning—entrepreneur, the founder of the city of Wilmington, and “the Father of the Port of Los Angeles”—built the 23-room residence in 1864.

🎂 Happy 196th Birthday, Phineas Banning!

Born on August 19, 1830, Phineas Banning left a mark on Southern California that can still be seen today.

From stagecoaches and railroads to shipping and the development of Wilmington, his vision helped connect a growing Los Angeles to the wider world—and earned him the title “Father of the Port of Los Angeles.”

And the home he built in 1864? It’s still standing—and today, it’s The Banning Museum. 🏛️
