Harry Gruyaert does not photograph places, but rather, he photographs the conditions that make places visible.
What separates Gruyaert from his documentary-minded colleagues at Magnum Photos, which he joined in 1982, is his lack of journalistic Intent.

He does not photograph events, but atmospheres.

Gruyaert’s work operates at the intersection of painting and photography, but the images remain photographic because they depend on chance.

Beneath the arches of the Procuratie Vecchie,
On the occasion of ‘Murano illumina il Mondo’,
Tristano di Robilant, in collaboration with Vetreria Anfora,
presents ‘PAX eT BONUM’, a chandelier paying tribute to Saint Francis of Assisi on the 800th anniversary of his death. Inspired by the cords and knots of the Franciscan habit, the work is composed of blown-glass elements made in two different shades of amber. Through an essential and symbolic language, the chandelier intertwines spirituality, memory and Murano tradition, evoking the profound connection between the Saint, Venice and the city’s artistic history.

Tristano di Robilant, in collaborazione con Vetreria Anfora, firma “PAX eT BONUM”, un lampadario che rende omaggio a San Francesco d’Assisi nell’ottocentesimo anniversario della sua morte.
Ispirata alle corde e ai nodi del saio francescano,
l’opera è composta da elementi in vetro soffiato realizzati in due diverse tonalità di ambra.
Attraverso un linguaggio essenziale e simbolico, il lampadario intreccia spiritualità, memoria e tradizione muranese, evocando il profondo legame tra il Santo, Venezia e la storia artistica della città.
