🇯🇵 Corinne Chaix Solo Exhibition │ HydroCosm

🌊 To survive the rising tides, we must first imagine life beneath them.

We are thrilled to present HydroCosm, the upcoming solo exhibition by Corinne Chaix, a French-born artist based in Venice, California, at JPS Gallery Tokyo. Transforming the creeping anxieties of a changing climate into an immersive aquatic labyrinth, Corinne conjures a lush, playful, and surreal marine universe 🪸🫧. Visitors will plunge into the hushed, blue-green glow of a submarine dining room to take a seat at a lavishly absurd dinner party 🍽️⚓, before stepping directly onto the sandy terrain of a diorama-like mangrove marshland envisioning a resilient coastal utopia 🌿🏝️. With even more captivating environments waiting to be discovered, this is a multi-sensory journey you must step inside to truly experience ✨👣.

Through vibrant layers of acrylic, pastel, and ink, Corinne's deliberately ambiguous works serve as a vital catalyst for imagination and dialogue. Join us to explore this shifting landscape, adapt to the tide, and find your own personal sanctuary in the deep. 🌊💙

Your turn to play! 🔴🔵 Ascend to the second floor of “The Architecture of Joy” for a breathtaking, bird’s-eye view of Cynthia Mak’s imagined metropolis! 🏙️

For the exhibition’s spectacular finale, Cynthia has partnered with the creative engineering duo STICKYLINE to create a monumental, nearly three-meter-tall marble run. This level transcends passive observation—it is a massive, interactive playground where you are invited to physically engage with the art.

🇰🇷 Cynthia Mak Solo Exhibition │ The Architecture of Joy

Welcome to Cynthia Mak’s museum debut, “The Architecture of Joy,” at Paradise Art Space! ✨ Step into a vibrant, meticulously crafted imaginary metropolis built entirely from geometric shapes.

This visual journey expands from intimate interpersonal spaces to a sweeping city panorama. It begins with “Shapes and Connection,” where overlapping elemental forms serve as profound metaphors for human relationships. The cityscape then evolves in “The Façade,” highlighting a stunning collaboration with revered Hong Kong atelier Tai Ping 🧵. Here, bespoke artisanal carpets cascade from wall to floor, bringing Cynthia’s vivid paintings to tactile life.

Next, “Landscape” offers a mesmerising geometric reimagining of a 12th-century Chinese masterpiece, perfectly balancing modern high-rises with serene mountains and waterways 🏞️. Finally, step into the three-dimensional “Building Block Estate,” a vibrant sculptural neighbourhood harmonising the playful joy of children’s blocks with the timeless grace of Asian architecture 🏯.

Don’t forget the grand finale: a monumental, interactive marble run installation created in partnership with creative duo STICKYLINE! 🎢
