🌕 Cynthia Mak  │  Rosewood Hong Kong x Hong Kong Palace Museum

Celebrating artist Cynthia Mak’s beautiful packaging design for the Mid-Autumn mooncake collaboration between Rosewood Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Palace Museum! 🥮✨

🏮 About The Seric Lantern

Bridging the Mid-Autumn Festival with the Palace Museum’s upcoming exhibition on the traditional temporal cycles of the Qing dynasty, this micro‑architectural gift box reimagines the traditional hanging palace lantern. The design features an octagonal vessel representing Rosewood Hong Kong, sheltered beautifully beneath a roof inspired by the Palace Museum itself. More than a festive gift, the lantern serves as a structural and symbolic prelude to the exhibition, connecting time‑honoured tradition with seasonal rhythms.

🧵 The Story: Rituals of Sericulture

Rooted in Qing dynasty heritage, Cynthia's design centers on the ancient tradition of sericulture, paying tribute to the sacred ritual of worshipping the Sericulture Deity. Every element of the lantern thoughtfully narrates a cycle of transformation and harvest. The delicate tassel and bead represent the silk cocoon and the careful extraction of raw silk fibre, while the top ribbon symbolizes the finished textile, honoring craftsmanship and tradition as a true emblem of prosperity.

🖼️ The Interior: A Hidden Gallery

Opening the lantern reveals a concealed interior gallery. Bold, contemporary graphics bring historical themes into the present, weaving together the heritage of the Palace Museum with the refined luxury of Rosewood Hong Kong. Interlaced with festive symbols and leaf motifs that signify growth, the green base holding the mooncakes serves as a beautiful visual metaphor for cultivated land and seasonal abundance. The colour palette harmonises the exhibition’s signature tones with the iconic branding of both partners.🌿

Designed with circularity in mind, the Seric Lantern is a lifestyle artefact intended for repurposing as a home ornament—a lasting memento and a visual teaser for the exhibition.

🇯🇵 VERSIONS Vol.2  │  16 Artists Remix Reality

Following the profound resonance of its inaugural 2025 edition at Ginza Tsutaya Books, JPS Gallery Tokyo presents VERSIONS Vol.2. The concept draws deeply from the sonic traditions of reggae music, where creating a “version” means stripping a track to its raw instrumental rhythm and layering divergent melodies over the same beat. At JPS Gallery Tokyo, the world itself serves as this universal instrumental track.

Sixteen visionary artists act as its vocalists, each bringing a deeply lived “version” of reality to the forefront. It is a radical act of communal reinvention, weaving these unique perspectives into a thematic dialogue about existence, memory, and contemporary culture.

🥂 Opening Reception: Friday, July 31, 2026, 5 - 8 pm
🗓 Exhibition Period: August 1-13, 2026
📍 Venue: JPS Gallery (Tokyo), 1/F, Tobu 2nd bldg, 6-27-4, Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 150-0001, Japan

🇰🇷 Cynthia Mak Solo Exhibition │ The Architecture of Joy

On this final day of “The Architecture of Joy”, we reflect with profound gratitude on the journey we have shared. Thank you to everyone who stepped into Cynthia Mak’s imagined metropolis over the past two months. We hope this vibrant cityscape offered you a sanctuary of joy, wonder, and meaningful connection.

This milestone would not have been possible without our esteemed collaborators, STICKYLINE and Tai Ping. We extend our deepest thanks for your visionary craftsmanship and for so brilliantly bringing Cynthia’s institutional museum debut to life.

Thank you for helping us build this city of joy. 🏛️✨

Exhibition Period: May 22 - July 22, 2026

Location: Paradise Art Space, 186, Yeongjonghaeannam-ro 321beon-gil, Jung-gu, Incheon

Part I: Shapes and Connection ⭕🔺

The journey commences on the first floor with “Shapes and Connection”, a meditation on the fundamental scale of human intimacy. Here, elemental forms and contours serve as profound metaphors for relationships. Cynthia illustrates how distinct entities, when seeking common ground across their differences, overlap to forge stronger, deeply intertwined configurations. Whether merging seamlessly or resting in a delicate embrace, these forms capture the quiet, foundational bonds that serve as the emotional bedrock for any community or imagined city.

Part II — The Façade 🏛️✨

As the vantage point expands, “The Façade” reimagines architecture as an emotional vessel. Every façade acts as both a mask and a promise—a vision of the life that might unfold inside, and a surface shaped by experience that bears the profound imprint of the lives, memories, and dreams dwelling within. This chapter is anchored by masterful collaborative carpets with Tai Ping (), the globally revered Hong Kong atelier celebrated for its bespoke craftsmanship and exquisite textiles. Woven artisanal textures bearing Cynthia’s designs cascade from wall to floor, forging a grand, tactile threshold whose rich dimensionality

🇯🇵 Natan Heber Solo Exhibition │ Mubins

Final week to view “Mubins” at JPS Gallery Tokyo! 💤

Over the past few weeks, the gallery has served as a sanctuary for the subconscious. Through the fascinating collision of rigorous, 17th-century Flemish oil techniques and vibrant contemporary pop design, Natan has crafted a deeply personal space where the waking mind is encouraged to drift, reorganise, and generate new ideas.

Before the "Mubins" awaken, we invite you to experience this luminous and conceptually rich body of work one last time. Visit us before the exhibition closes this Sunday.

Exhibition Period: July 4 to 26, 2026

Venue: JPS Gallery (Tokyo), 1/F, Tobu 2nd bldg , 6-27-4, Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 150-0001, Japan

「Mubins」

🇰🇷 Cynthia Mak Solo Exhibition │ The Architecture of Joy

The grand finale of our imagined metropolis. 🎢✨

Welcome to the last stop of the jolly city by Cynthia Mak! For this breathtaking finale, Cynthia partners with Hong Kong creative duo STICKYLINE to present a monumental, interactive installation that scales a classic childhood toy into a towering, three-meter-tall marble run.

Serving as a massive interactive playground, visitors are invited to physically engage with the artwork by releasing marbles into a colossal metropolis of twisting roads, cascading structures, and labyrinthine pathways. As each sphere careens through the city, it beautifully mirrors the unpredictable, spontaneous, and joyful journey of the human experience.

👀 Don't miss your chance to play! The exhibition ends on July 22, so make sure to visit and experience this spectacular finale before it closes.

🇭🇰 Barminski Solo Exhibition  │  Runway 51

Attention passengers: The departure gate is officially OPEN TODAY! Welcome aboard your cosmic journey through Runway 51. 🛸✨

JPS Gallery has completely transformed into a surreal, full-scale cardboard airport. After passing through the security checkpoint, you will step into a departure lounge showcasing Barminski’s latest series of art toys. Look closely—beneath the meticulously crafted cardboard lies the artist’s signature humor, revealing a brilliant new side to these iconic characters.

The journey takes a deeper, more mysterious turn inside the terminal restroom, which serves as a portal to a secret room housing an alien control panel. As you navigate the immersive world in JPS Gallery, you might find yourself questioning the very nature of reality: Are unseen forces quietly controlling our lives? What is real, and what is an illusion? Or could we be the aliens?

The artist leaves these questions unanswered, waiting for you to discover your own truth.

Skip the layover and head straight to the gallery. Whether you are an art aficionado or a sci-fi enthusiast, your gate is waiting. 🎫🛫
