What does it mean to be an artist in dialogue with generative AI? This free two-day event features a workshop and showcase led by and participating artists diving into custom, artist-led AI models.

Fri 31 Jul, 2-5PM:
A hands-on workshop where you’ll build agent-led workflows to explore how creative agents can be used as collaborators in image and video production, including practical setup, guided experimentation, and discussion.

Sat 1 Aug, 2-4.15PM:
A showcase debuting five newly commissioned artist models by , , , , and , with talks, demos, and live interaction.

Closing this weekend: discover how spirituality persists in unexpected and often overlooked spaces in this G31 installation.

In May, Sian activated one of the costumes within the installation, gradually revealing concealed elements of it and ascending an aerial silk to perform a sequence combining the spectacle of pop stardom with the intensity of spiritual ritual.

Working with artificial materials and references drawn from contemporary digital pop culture, Somerset House Studios artist Sian Fan reflects on how experiences of magic and belief continue in today’s manufactured media landscape.

A huge thank you to all the artists, performers and contributors who were part of Assembly 2026, and to everyone who joined us and filled the rooms across the programme’s three days.

From 26–28 March, the fifth edition of our experimental sound and music series convened Studios residents, alumni and guest artists, activating Somerset House’s New Wing with newly commissioned performances, premieres and critical conversations.
