Art Casa presents a photography show Aspectus: How We View Things ( Contact Photography Festival) May 17 - June 7, 2025 featuring 10 talented Canadian fine art photographers. Aspectus concept: When light hits the retina, special cells called photoreceptors turn the light into electrical signals. These electrical signals travel from the retina through the optic nerve to the brain. Then the brain turns the signals into the images you see.
The relation between what we see and what we perceive and understand is never settled. People can look at the same object but view it in a completely different way.
If “so many men, so many minds” then certainly there are so many brains, and consequently so many directions from which an object is looked at.

Terra Imaginari: Landscapes & Vignettes art show opening reception is on Thursday, March 27 at Casa Art Gallery, 33 Charles Street East, Yorkville, Toronto, from 7 pm to 9 pm. This art show features Canadian artists Neema Lakin-Dainow and Joanne Shenfeld. The show is on until May 11, 2025.
