🎟️ Tickets start at $15 and are available for purchase on our website (link in bio). Each ticket includes admission to the Book Launch + ferry transportation to Saysutshun for the event.

Brackish Waters is the 3rd of three projects to engage the resource industries on Vancouver Island (mining, fishing, & forestry) through art & writing. During the Book Launch, Xulsi’malt Gary Manson, Jesse Birch, Masako Fukawa, Dawn Johnson, and Willie Thrasher and Linda Saddleback will share aspects of our cultural and ecological connections to the ocean through story and song.

You can purchase copies from Nanaimo Art Gallery’s resource trilogy (Black Diamond Dust, The Mill, & Brackish Waters) by calling or visiting the Gallery Store in person.

Join us tonight for Crafty Queers+ to socialize with other folks in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community while making buttons, signs, and screen printing with our supplies.

🎟️ This is a drop-in event, by donation

We will have fabric available for screen printing, but if you would like to print a design onto an item of your own, feel free to bring it along. This could be an item of clothing, tote bag, or other fabric item. Please make sure it is light in colour so the dark ink shows up.

We will also be at Nanaimo Pride in Maffeo Sutton Park from 12-5 pm this Sunday June 14th. Come say hi & join us for free to make a pride button of your own.

Youth Art Exhibition and Market Extravaganza - this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

Participants in Nanaimo Art Gallery’s Youth Art Collective have curated an exhibition of their own work - Silver Linings.

Join us this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Art Lab at Nanaimo Art Gallery to experience the exhibition. The teens will also be hosting a small (cash-only) marketplace, featuring their work. Please consider bringing cash if you’d like to support them directly.
