Meet “Bastion 001”, a hand-painted sculptural ceramic Harbour seal by artist Melissa Bain (2026) ~ who’s been re-named (quite appropriately) to “Seabastion” by its new owner. He’s now nestled into his new home on Protection Island, BC and continues to enjoy the sights and sounds of our beautiful and rugged West coast BC.

Seabastion was the first piece in a new series of 100 original hand-sculpted ceramic Harbour seals and West coast wildlife pieces by Canadian Artist Melissa Bain. The piece measures approximately 4” l x 3” w x 2.25” h

Congrats to the wonderfully crafty Kerry Martini, who successfully spotted Woody in the gallery during last Thursday’s Commercial Street Night Market! 👏🌿

For her keen eye, Kerri has won a $20 gift certificate to our wonderful neighbours across the street at Artzi Stuff 🎁

“But where was Woody?” you ask…

Well… Woody was simply getting back to his roots and had tucked himself snugly into the gallery’s floral arrangement, happily pretending to be one with nature. (We’re still not convinced he wasn’t photosynthesizing.)

Congratulations again, Kerry Martini ! Enjoy your prize!

We’re proud to introduce the extraordinary sculptural work of Angellos Glaros, currently showcased in our front window and throughout the Bainzy Art Gallery.

Working in wood and metal, Angellos transforms reclaimed and natural materials into sculptural works that feel at once ancient and contemporary. His pieces speak of strength, movement, balance and the enduring beauty of craftsmanship—inviting you to slow down, look closer, and discover something new from every angle.
