SOME HOUSES HAVE CHARACTER. THESE HAVE CLAWS. 🏚️🐓

Straight out of Slavic folklore (and possibly your next nightmare), these Baba Yaga-inspired sculptures by Nanaimo metal artist Dustin Rickman are anything but your ordinary little cottages.

Perched on sinister chicken legs, each one is handcrafted from welded metal and reclaimed materials, complete with a chimney, plenty of architectural personality, and absolutely no guarantee it’ll stay where you put it. 👀

Pop in a tea light and watch your little house glow from within, or add an incense puck and let the chimney puff away like Baba Yaga’s home after a particularly busy afternoon of witchcraft.

ONE FLEW THE COOP (SOLD) TODAY! 🔴 Leaving just 2 (two) of these delightfully peculiar properties available at the Bainzy!

No mortgage. No property taxes. No pesky neighbours. Just a charming little home with questionable intentions.

So much to be thankful for this year! 🧡💛♥️

Just three and a half months since opening our doors, and the Bainzy has already given so much to be grateful for.

To the wonderful artists whose creativity graces our walls, the collectors who have found meaningful pieces to call their own, and the incredible Nanaimo community who have welcomed us with open arms — thank you.🧡

Perhaps the greatest gift has been the friendships formed along the way. So many new faces have become familiar ones, and so many patrons have become friends. 💛

We’re absolutely loving this little adventure and look forward to many more years of art, friendships, and beautiful discoveries together.♥️

Thank you, Nanaimo, for making the Bainzy feel right at home.
