Artist in resident Chloe Stephenson has wonderful collection of work in the gallery. As part of her final show, 'An Ode To The River' bridges functional pottery and Chloe's personal connection to the natural world. Supplemented by film photographs taken by her brother, she connects her work to the warm desert tones and Appalachian imagery with emerging influences from her new home on Vancouver island.
See her work at 115 Chapel St. Nanaimo BC, open Tues - Sat, 11 A - 5 PM.

An Ode To The River closes this Wednesday at Nanaimo Ceramic Arts - see the show before it goes! 115 Chapel St. open 11 AM - 5 PM.
This collection of work was created by our current Artist In Residence, Chloe Stephenson. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, now living on Gabriola Island, Chloe's residence focused on developing and refining a cohesive body of work. During her residency, she continued to investigate the expressive potential of sculpted hands alongside her exploration of working with slips and carving designs.
An Ode To The River is where functional pottery comes together with Chloe's deep personal connection to the natural world, shaped during two summers living and working along the Chattooga River in South Carolina.

The experience sparked a profound spiritual connection to the land, inspiring a body of work that tells stories through material, imagery, colour and texture. Supplemented by film photographs taken by her brother, this exhibition offers a glimpse of the Chattooga River through Chloe’s eyes—where pottery becomes both a vessel for storytelling and a gift back to the earth for all that it has given.
