The TELUS World of Science - Edmonton is an interactive science centre where you can have fun with science, technology and mathematics. The centre is run by the Edmonton Space & Science Foundation, a non-profit organization, and serves to inspire lives in Edmonton and Alberta. The science centre features interactive exhibit galleries, Alberta's largest IMAX Theatre showing documentary and Hollywood films, an inflatable planetarium with shows daily, and also a science demonstration stage, and feature gallery hosting world-class exhibitions. The Science Centre is proud to join the celebration with Canadian Finals Rodeo.

The Jasper Dark Sky Festival returns October 16–25, and the Science Centre team is joining the fun for two action-packed days on October 23 and 24!

🌙 Science After Dark
📅 Friday, October 23 | 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
📍 Jasper Pop-Up Village
Get hands-on with the night sky through telescopes, live demonstrations, interactive science and cosmic discoveries.

🔭 ScienceFest
📅 Saturday, October 24 | 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
📍 Commemoration Park
Watch science come to life with our science presenters and local performer Nikolai Smith, featuring high-energy experiments, surprising stunts and fun for all ages.

Joshua Kutryk is officially spacebound! 🚀🇨🇦

Today, we joined Edmonton Public Library Edmonton Public Library to cheer on Canadian Space Agency’s astronaut Joshua Kutryk as he launched aboard NASA’s SpaceX Crew-13 mission, bound for the International Space Station.

A huge thank you to Edmonton Public Library for helping us come together to celebrate this incredible moment and cheer Joshua Kutryk on from Edmonton. 💜

Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, we honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, survivors who carry the weight of their experiences, and the families and communities impacted.

Every child matters. 🧡

Reconciliation is ongoing, and the work must continue through listening, learning, reflecting and taking meaningful action.

Yesterday, we came together as a team to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

With the Science Centre still temporarily closed, staff gathered near the medicine garden to listen, learn and reflect. We shared stories around the fire pit, painted rocks, journaled, and shared tea and bannock as we took time to consider the history and lasting impacts of residential schools and what reconciliation asks of each of us.

It was our way of honouring the survivors, the children who never returned home, and acknowledging the ongoing impacts of residential schools on families and communities.

Reconciliation is ongoing. We will continue to listen, learn and reflect.

A special shoutout to the City of Edmonton - Local Government’s Indigenous Relations Office for their support and helping make the day meaningful for our team.
