Tortuga St Peters One of Sydney's largest and most eclectic artist-run spaces, renowned for its subversive creativity.

Tortuga Studios is a hybrid beast, multiple collaborative parts making a self-perpetuating whole. Proudly artist-run and independent, this vibrant inner west ARI is a sprawling warehouse space and gallery located in an old brick factory in the shadow of the brick kilns of Sydney Park. Al the Tortuga crew that make these nights work – thank you. And every artist who challenged the power of algorithmic control. Nailed it, each of you.

The moment the system can fully predict you, it can replace you.

Featuring the work of some of Sydney’s most subversive artists, Overthrow the Algorithm explores the counter moves required to resist the psychological terrain of algorithmic control. It urges us to break the feedback loop, to work together, embrace the idea of unknowability, and fight for a new sense of freedom.
