PASAR MALAM IS NOW OPEN IN BUNBURY!
Pasar Malam | Night Market has officially arrived at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (BRAG)! 🎉
After wrapping up at Fremantle Arts Centre, our travelling exhibition has journeyed further into regional Western Australia’s South West — and we’re so excited to share Pasar Malam with the Bunbury community!
📍 Bunbury Regional Art Gallery
📅 15 August – 25 October 2026
A Krack Studio exhibition in partnership with 16albermarle Project Space, Pasar Malam features large-scale screenprints by 15 Indonesian and Australian artists, exploring the transgressive allure and vibrant energy of the Indonesian night market.
✨ Each presentation of Pasar Malam is unique.
Every time we install the exhibition, we make a few tweaks to keep it fresh and give each venue its own character. For Bunbury, we’ve added two new film posters created by Yogyakarta artists Pak Yoyok and Pak Sambodo. Now in their 70s, both artists painted movie billboards in Yogyakarta during the 1980s — and they were delighted to have the opportunity to bring those skills back to life! The new posters now line the video tent, adding another layer of colour and nostalgia to the exhibition. 🎬🖌️
We’re incredibly proud to continue Pasar Malam’s journey across Australia, with every venue bringing something new to the experience.
🇮🇩 Dirgahayu Republik Indonesia! Selamat HUT ke-81 RI! 🇮🇩
What better way to celebrate 81 years of Indonesian independence than by coming together through Indonesian art, culture and stories? Come visit Pasar Malam, bring your friends and family, and celebrate Indonesian creativity and culture with us in Bunbury.
See you at Pasar Malam! See you in Bunbury! 🌙✨
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government’s Visions of Australia program.
