Charlie and Shio have been diggin' in the crates to show off some gems this week.

Illmindmuzik by Declaime, better know as Dudley Perkins and produced entirely by his longtime homie Madlib is first up and pressed again for the first time since 1999.

Illmindmuzik is a must for fans of Cali underground hip-hop and boasts guest appearances from the likes of the Lootpack, Evidence and more, and includes the stand out singles, “Let It Be Known” and “Roll ‘Em Right.”

Next up Shio has The Cosmic Tones Research Trio self-titled second album, featuring Roman Norfleet, Harlan Silverman, and Kennedy Verrett. This album dives deeper into the spiritual soundscapes that first defined their genre-defying approach.

Based in Portland, Oregon, the trio crafts a transcendent listening experience rooted in both meditative stillness and rhythmic propulsion. Blending cello, alto sax, piano, flutes, and an eclectic palette of textures and percussions, the album channels a sacred energy that feels both ancient and forward-reaching.
