Dubbed a “dystopian [Jacques] Tati” by David Bordwell, Roy Andersson is one of Sweden's most distinctive auteurs. Known for long-takes and wide-angled sequences, Andersson situates his viewers as active participants in seeking out the beauty and humour amongst the banal.

Melbourne Cinémathèque's retrospective features almost all of Andersson’s work for the cinema, including A SWEDISH LOVE STORY, SONGS FROM THE SECOND FLOOR, and ABOUT ENDLESSNESS.

GHOST DOG: WAY OF THE SAMURAI is Jim Jarmusch's wholly contemporary, surprisingly odd, and deeply respectful guide to right and wrong.

Forest Whitaker plays Ghost Dog, a reclusive hit man living by a strict Samurai code. However, the world is rapidly changing and the mafia are getting jumpy at his strange ways. Armed with a sixth sense, Ghost Dog embarks on a path to re-establish balance with the mafia.

The needle has officially dropped on our latest exhibition, The Vinyl Factory: Reverb. Diving deep into sound and vinyl culture, Reverb invites you to slow down and let the music wash over you.

Head to the Listening Room for some deep listening, from a curated collection of records in an acoustically optimised sanctuary. Jump on the technics and play with endlessly remixable vinyl loops. Browse through an eclectic collection of over 100 pressed vinyls.

THE BEASTS follows French couple Antoine and Olga, who dream of growing their own eco-friendly crops in a seemingly ideal hamlet in the Galician countryside. However, they soon find themselves at odd with the locals and things sour quickly.

Loosely based on true events, Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s unbearably tense thriller explores how easy it is to dehumanise what we don’t understand.

Premiering at Cannes in 2022, the film went on to win nine Goya Awards, including Best Picture, Director, Original Screenplay and Actor.
