Unpacking Packaging

Join artist Lawson Dodd and researcher APrf Skye Akbar at 'The Convenient Store' in MOD.'s Arcade Gallery for a lunchtime talk. In the setting of a pretend shopfront installation we will discuss how marketing and design might influence our choices as consumers, considering the lens of First Nations business and communities in particular.

This talk is a part of Reconciliation Week and will be held on Kaurna Country. We acknowledge the Kaurna, Boandik and Barngarla Peoples, the Traditional Owners of the Adelaide University campuses, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Weds 27 May, 12:30pm - 1:00pm at MOD.
Free, no bookings required.
See the link in our bio for all the details.

Ethos Forum: Bioethics of Beginnings

New reproductive technologies such as cloning, genome editing, and ectogenesis — growing an embryo outside the body — are no longer science fiction. They’re all possible new beginnings for human life.

Join us at Ethos to discuss questions about what comes next with researchers and experts. How might these technologies reshape our understanding of “biological parenthood”? Who has the right to reproduce, and how? What happens to equity, consent, and identity when the womb becomes optional?

28 May, 6pm - 7:30pm at MOD.
Free, booking essential.
See the link in our bio for all the details.

Behind the word are four circles arranged in a square, three of which are filled with other overlapping coloured circles - green, blue and purple. The other circle in the lower left corner contains a simple illustration of egg-like shapes in differing shades of pink.]
