Before demolition began in 2021, the final days of the iconic West End Brewery were carefully documented by our Senior Digitising Officer preserving an important piece of South Australia’s industrial and cultural history for future generations. 🍺

Now fully catalogued, these fascinating photograph collections are available to explore online.

The State Library of South Australia proudly supports this year’s National Reconciliation Week and its theme, ‘All In’. We recognise the importance of reconciliation as an ongoing journey that calls on all Australians to listen, learn, and work together toward a more just and inclusive future.

As a place for learning and community connection, the State Library supports the sharing of Aboriginal histories, cultures, and perspectives through collaboration, storytelling, and public programs. We encourage everyone to reflect on the shared role we each play in advancing reconciliation. Reconciliation is strongest when we are all in.

The artwork for this campaign is by renowned Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey, who applied his distinctive style to create a colourful and optimistic visual representation of people from all walks of life being ‘all in’ to make change.
