It provides exhibition, research and work integrated learning experiences for UniSA Creative coursework students and higher degree by research candidates.

Training Ground: Past and present students of the South Australian School of Art

Training Ground brings together the work of more than 30 past and present students in a celebration of the school’s legacy and its future. Showcasing breadth and diversity in approaches and materials, the gathered works span painting, printmaking, ceramics,
sculpture, jewellery, digital artwork and installation. From nationally renowned artists to lesser-known figures, their works offer a snapshot of the dynamic artistic practices nurtured here.

Pleasure to mentor Project Curator Stephanie Doddridge in curating an exhibition of 18 South Australian graduates on the precipice of professional practice. Well done Steph!

In her catalogue introduction Step writes “one gets the sense these artists have both laboured tirelessly at their craft, whilst simultaneously successfully finding a sense of joy and play at this crucial time.”

Congratulations to all the artists on this milestone and achievement. We look forward to celebrating with you over the coming weeks.

L>M>S is an Installation Art Lab that explores Light, Movement, and Sound as materials to transform space.  Students enrolled in Installation Art (B. Contemporary Art) will take over SASA Gallery for a one month site-specific residency.
 
Join the artists for a finissage on Thursday 31 October 2024, 4pm-5pm.
