To accompany the Warren County Historical Society's Wedding Exhibit, we are pleased to present a special edition of The Wedding Gazette.

Drawing on photographs, family stories, historical articles, and exhibit materials, this vintage-style newspaper explores more than a century of Warren County weddings. Inside you'll find bridal fashions, wedding portraits, bicycle weddings, flower girls, anniversary celebrations, and other memorable moments from our community's past.

We've been nerding out on Warrensburg history recently as we work on some interior decoration projects at George Henry's. Came across a lot of references for our building throughout the years and we thought you may enjoy some of the headlines and articles we discovered. Our friends at Hudson & Main inspired us to share some of our finds.

Dog ‘Drives’ Truck Into Apartment; Wall Is Demolished

WARRENSBURG — A German shepherd dog was held responsible yesterday at 3:45 p.m. for a run-away log truck crashing into the house at 34 Main St. and demolishing the northeast wall of the home. It is the second such accident at the house in the past six months.

Michael Lawler of Horicon Ave. parked the southbound truck near the Town Clerk’s office and went into Potter’s Diner for coffee. When he came out, he saw the truck rolling down the hill and crossing the street through the Warren Inn parking lot before it struck the home. The truck also broke off a water hydrant near the home. The vehicle was not loaded.

The portion of the home it struck was an unoccupied apartment. The upstairs apartment is occupied by Mrs. Beula Burch and her son, Maurice and the stairs leading to their rooms were smashed.
Lawler reported to the Chief of Police Arthur McNeill that he had left the truck in gear with his dog inside. He believes the dog knocked the truck out of gear.

Last June a similar accident happened when a truck loaded with an explosive chemical crashed into the same home and demolished the front wall. The house is owned by Maurice J. Ash.
