The Tulsa Air and Space Museum family is deeply saddened by the passing of Glen.
Glen dedicated countless hours to our museum and touched the lives of so many through his generosity, and hard work. Glen made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
His contributions helped shape not only our museum, but also the experiences and memories of the many visitors, volunteers, and staff members he encountered over the years. His presence will be greatly missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Glen’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn his loss and celebrate a life that meant so much to so many.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Glenn Bean, who left us on June 14th, 2026.
Glenn was an integral part of our American Airlines family for over 42 years, starting his career with us in 1967. He dedicated himself to serving our airline and its passengers with dedication, hard work, and a commitment to excellence. As a Crew Chief Aviation Maintenance Technician, Glen played a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our aircraft.
Glenn’s passion for his work and his colleagues was evident throughout his career. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including his fellow crew members, family, and friends.
We extend our sincerest condolences to the Bean family during this difficult time. May they find comfort in the love and support of their community, as well as the memories of a life well-lived.

Glenn Bean, 83, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026.
Glenn was born on July 16, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Clarence and Virginia Bean. He spent his childhood in Cleveland and attended local schools before moving on to Hinkley, OH and attending Highland High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1961.
Following high school, Glenn attended A&P Mechanics School and began a long and successful career with American Airlines. His career took him to Ceveland, Ohio, Chicago,Illinois and eventually Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he retired in 2008 as an Avionics Crew Chief after many years of dedicated service.
Glenn met the love of his life, Linda, while they were in the eighth grade. The two grew up attending school together and were married in February 1964. Together they built a loving family and shared more than six decades of memories.
Known for his remarkable mechanical abilities, Glenn loved tinkering with cars and fixing just about anything. His family affectionately nicknamed him “Joe Petrone” because there was seemingly nothing he couldn’t repair. He was truly a mechanical genius with a gift for solving problems.
Glenn enjoyed traveling, especially his memorable trip to Hawaii with his family. He was passionate about airplanes, air shows, and World War II history. Blessed with an incredible memory, he was often the family’s source of information and stories. During his retirement years, he devoted many hours volunteering with the Tulsa Air and Space Museum, combining his love of aviation with service to his community. Glenn also was a long time member at Destiny Life Church and enjoyed going to Sunday service with his wife Linda.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Virginia Bean.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Bean; his children, Denise Mayberry and husband Bryan, Suzanne Bean, Jim Bean and wife Heidi, and Amy Hamilton and husband Jim; his grandchildren, Hannah Monaco and husband Kord, Kaitlyn Bean, Kyle Bean and wife Cailley, Emma Grace Hamilton, and Addison Hamilton; and his great-grandchild, August Bean.
Glenn will be remembered for his devotion to family, his extraordinary mechanical talents, his love of aviation, and the countless lives he touched throughout his 83 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
