The Tulsa Artists’ Coalition (TAC) is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization of artists and art supporters, formed to support artists in Tulsa and the surrounding area. The Tulsa Artists' Coalition (TAC) is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization of artists and art supporters, formed in 1986 to encourage and support emerging and established contemporary artists, and to foster the development of n

Long ago, TAC decided that the best way to support artists was to provide them with a venue to display quality, contemporary art—especially work which may not otherwise have a home in a traditional commercial gallery. As a result, we created the TAC Gallery, which since 1996 has resided in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District. Each year, the TAC Gallery hosts approximately ten month-long shows by artists in a variety of media and 1-2 group shows.

Join us for the opening of BODY, a solo exhibition by Laurel Payne, on Friday, September 4, from 6–9 PM during the First Friday Art Crawl.

Working in watercolor, pen and ink, and mixed media, Payne creates expressive, non-traditional portraits exploring identity, emotion, and human connection. Through intuitive mark-making, vibrant color, and spontaneous applications of paint and ink, her work invites us to consider how emotion and perception shape the way we see one another.

Artist Talk with Addyson Hoey
Friday, August 28, 2026
7–8 pm

Join mixed-media artist Addyson Hoey for an artist talk exploring the ideas behind Persuasive, Rather Than True. Hoey will discuss how her paintings examine the intersection of digital and physical space, using digital collage, machine-assisted processes, and painterly illusion to question how technology shapes our perception of reality. Through her practice, she investigates the ways screen-based experiences influence our lived environments and how painting can reclaim agency within an increasingly digital world.

New Exhibition the Friday: "Persuasive, Rather Than True" by Addyson Hoey

Opening: Friday, August 7, 2026 from 6-9pm
Exhibition: August 7 – 29, 2026

"In Persuasive, Rather Than True," Addyson Hoey examines the blurred boundaries between digital and physical space, exploring how technology shapes the way we perceive and navigate the world. Through mixed-media paintings and digital collage processes, Hoey investigates themes of illusion, perception, and constructed reality, using digital effects such as drop shadows to bridge screen-based experiences with lived environments. Her work creates a dialogue between traditional painting, digital interfaces, and contemporary life, inviting viewers to consider how technology influences our understanding of what is real.

Originally from Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Hoey holds a BFA from the University of Arkansas and an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis.
