Whew, it's been a whirlwind these past few weeks. If you haven't heard..we opened a second gallery location downtown Traverse City! We are so thrilled to be in a spot with better foot traffic and more accessibility...but it has been a lot! Opening that location while running our location at The Village has been a lot to juggle but I think we're starting to get our footing. ✨

We also want to gradually transition more fish to our downtown location while our village location will focus more on our Art Café. So if you're looking for fish and a good selection of my original art, definitely check out the downtown location.🎨

Our downtown location is: 121 E. Front Street, Traverse City MI. We're right inside the Front Row Centre building!

Since we've had so much going on we also decided to postpone and Art Drop this month and just have a really big drop in November instead! We'll have lots of minnows painted and some super cute bobbing stand fish. And probably a few other goodies too 🐠

Well that's pretty much it for now - I need to get back to painting!!

We just wanna make happy art 🎨🌈✨

Hello friends! If you're just discovering us for the first time.. we're mother and daughter artists making happy art in northern Michigan. You'll see me (Kirstie aka EchoFoxx) in most of the videos but my mom (Shelly Drews) is the one doing ALL of the wood carving behind the scenes. She carves all of our fish, dogs, suns, moons...if it is made out of wood - she carved it! She also carves and designs all of our paint your own Art Cafe projects.

Together we do all of the painting! I also paint and design all of our watercolor prints and cards, stickers, mugs and all that other fun stuff. I do the sunset weavings around the gallery as well 🥰🌈🎨

If you aren't in Michigan - you can always browse our happy art online on our website. We Ship all over the U.S as well as Canada, Europe, the UK and Australia. Just email us for international shipping quotes. Link for our website is in our bio ✨

Happy Monday 🎨🌈✨ Here's a little peek at some of the projects we have available at our Art Café!

All of our projects are designed and carved right here in Traverse City by my mom (Shelly Drews!). Just pick a project and we supply the paints, brushes and everything you need to complete a project.

Drop in anytime we're open or reserve a table online! Plan to give yourself 1 to 1.5 hours to paint a project. 🎨

Painting is available at our Village Gallery location and we have to-go projects available at our downtown location. In Person painting is not available at our downtown store 🐠

Happy October! Here are some great fish from a great summer ✨🌈🎨

Shelly is at the village store and I'll be heading over the downtown gallery later today to work on a few more things. Right now the plan is to open up the downtown gallery tomorrow (Friday October 2nd)!

Things are so much different now than they were when we opened in 2019..we don't have big chunks of time to work on things like we used to - it's slower now and we tackle projects just one little step at a time. We still have a little ways to go before we have the new store exactly how we want it but we've learned it's better to just start before you're ready. 😂 We're both perfectionists so if we wanted until we were ready - we would never start!

Okay, back to what's happening today:

Our art cafe tables are set and ready for you today! Rainy days are always the perfect painting days 🎨

Art Cafe is open 11-4 🌧️✨

No reservations necessary - just drop in and we'll get you set up. Feel free to bring a coffee or tea to sip while you paint!

A few updates:
Our downtown location will have a soft opening this weekend! (October 3rd) Woohoo!! I think we've got everything we need to get things rolling there but we'll be adding and changing stuff as we go. This location will also double as a studio for Shelly so she's anxious to get in there and get back to painting 🐠

I'm thinking a little bit about extending out hours on Thursday and Fridays a bit later but we'll see! We're still figuring things out with the new shop 🍂

Oh, I'm working on having international shipping rates on the website - I think I've figured out a way to make it work. In the meantime - just email us with your shipping address and which fish you'd like to purchase and we'll get you a shipping quote!

Are all 16 shown in this video?? Idk I lost track 🤩 ALL of these are available at the gallery right now (although I'm still in the process of naming them, but that means you get to sneak in your name suggestions if you see one you like!)

I'll be adding these to the website over the next few days and I'm planning an official September drop for Monday, September 28th. ✨

In other news, the downtown location is coming along nicely and I think we'll be ready to open up early October...I'm thinking on the 2nd or 3rd?? We'll see, there's just lots of little things left to do but if you know anything about us we always start things before we're "ready"😂

Art Café has been a little quieter this month but we're starting to get a lot of bookings for October and I'm so excited! As a reminder, if you don't see availability online for your preferred time, we can still seat you! Just drop-in instead. 🎨🌈✨

Whew, you guys just keep selling us out of Art Café fish! I added 12 new fishes to the website this morning so if you missed out before, now is your chance!

Just a little reminder that it's just me and my mom running this little art business. We design and carve all of our Art Café projects - right down to cutting out their little metal fins and screwing on their bottle cap eyes (yes, we twirl the wire for each eye too 😂).

We love what we do and we really hope that shows with every piece that we make 🌈🎨✨
