Offering nature-inspired jewelry, fine art, unique gifts and items of extraordinary interest. Established in the former 1,800 sq. ft.

Gallery Fifty space, Sanctuary opened in January 2017. It is situated among the shops and restaurants in “Building 50″ as part of The Village at Grand Traverse Commons, the historic 19th century insane asylum formerly known as the Traverse City State Hospital. Muted earth tones, stripped down industrial fixtures and furnishings, live plants, as well as proper lighting and music create a soothing,

peaceful shopping environment. Customers will recognize long-time Gallery Fifty favorites while being introduced to new work from many others. Adjacent to the galleries, in one of northern Michigan’s largest fine art venues, The Mercato, we host a bi-monthly exhibition series often showcasing group or theme shows. We also feature our studio jewelers with trunk show events.

The vivid works of Artist Stephen Wysocki use color as a lens to depict our everyday world in a saturated, moody light. When he isn’t busy raising buffalo at his family farm in Wisconsin, he’s probably painting.

“My mission is to show beauty in the ordinary, to allow the viewer to experience an image they see every day in a new way.”
