Art. Light. Transformation. Christopher Ries' optical crystal sculptures are more than objects of beauty; they are experiences. They can even be described as luminous forms that appear throughout the space as light beings, ethereal visitors born from sunlight, crystal, and wonder.

Precision-cut from flawless optical crystal, each sculpture bends, refracts, and transforms light into what Ries calls "secondary art", ephemeral rainbows and radiant projections that dance across walls, floors, and ceilings. These fleeting moments emerge through the interaction of sculpture, sunlight, and the viewer.

No two moments are ever the same.

These prismatic displays are not added effects but natural phenomena, created through the masterful geometry and optical engineering of the crystal itself. Ries' work exists at the intersection of fine art, physics, and magic.

Perhaps that is why his sculptures feel so transformative. They remind us that beauty is often revealed through illumination, and that when light passes through the right lens, entirely new worlds become visible.

Collectors often discover that these sculptures continue to reveal themselves long after they arrive home—creating moments of surprise, reflection, joy, and sometimes even the feeling that the space itself has come alive.

Experience the magic of Christopher Ries at Gallery of Modern Masters.

In a world that moves faster every day, Théo Schildkamp invites us to pause.

"I Am" is a powerful reflection on our relationship with nature, identity, and the quiet spaces between action and stillness. Through his distinctive visual language, Schildkamp explores the growing disconnect between modern life and the natural world, a separation that often leaves us feeling ungrounded, distracted, and searching for meaning.

For Théo, waiting is not passive. It is a sacred act of observation. It is in these moments of stillness that we reconnect with ourselves, hear the rhythms of nature, and remember who we are beneath the noise of daily life. The title I Am speaks to presence itself, a reminder that before we become, achieve, or acquire anything, we are.

Born in the Netherlands and now working in Australia, Schildkamp's paintings blend symbolism, humor, and social commentary with a deep reverence for the natural world. His work encourages us to look beyond the surface and reflect on our place within the larger web of life.

New Stone Creations – Brazilian Agate "First Portal"

Nature spent millions of years creating the beauty hidden within this Brazilian Agate. Formed in ancient volcanic cavities as layer upon layer of silica-rich minerals slowly crystallized, agate is a remarkable record of Earth's artistry and patience. Each band, swirl, and color variation tells a geological story that began long before humanity walked the planet.

In this unique Stone Creations artwork, Michael Redhawk and Marlys Mallét honor the stone's natural landscape, allowing its patterns and colors to guide the artistic vision. Their collaboration transforms a rare treasure of the earth into a one-of-a-kind work of art, where nature and human creativity become inseparable.

Metaphysically, agate has long been associated with grounding, stability, and inner strength. It is believed to bring balance to emotions, calm anxious thoughts, and encourage self-confidence during times of change. Brazilian Agate, with its vibrant energy and striking natural patterns, is often regarded as a stone of harmony, helping one find beauty and order amidst life's complexities.

A symbol of resilience, patience, and connection to the natural world, this extraordinary stone reminds us that some of the most beautiful transformations happen slowly, layer by layer.

Robert Ichter – All the Blues
Acrylic on Canvas
14 x 11 x 2 in
$1,200

As tonight’s Full Blue Moon rises over Sedona, Robert Ichter’s All the Blues feels especially fitting. Layers of luminous blues dance across the canvas, evoking moonlit skies, deep waters, and the emotional depth that only this color can convey.

While a “Blue Moon” rarely appears blue in the sky, it has long symbolized rare moments, reflection, and the opportunity to see familiar things in a new light. Ichter captures that same sense of wonder in this expressive acrylic painting, where movement, texture, and rich color invite viewers to pause and immerse themselves in the beauty of the moment.

Join us today at Gallery of Modern Masters as Robert Ichter appears in person from 12–8 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist, explore his newest works, and experience the energy behind his creative process.

There is something truly magical about watching molten glass transform into art through generations of craftsmanship.

This extraordinary Wes Hunting piece, “Large Colorfield Symphony Vase,” is more than just hand-blown glass; it is the result of a father and son working side by side in the hot shop, carrying forward a tradition of American studio glass artistry through fire, movement, trust, and years of dedication to the craft.

Wes Hunting is known for his vibrant color fields, organic forms, and masterful understanding of how light moves through glass. Each piece is created through an intense process of gathering molten glass from the furnace, shaping it with breath, heat, and teamwork, then slowly cooling it to preserve its strength and brilliance.

The flowing colors in this vase almost feel musical, layered like a visual symphony of light, energy, and motion.

A tide-born treasure from the edge of the sea.

“Flash Kiss” by Sedona artists Marlys Mallét & Michael Redhawk featuring the extraordinary beauty of rare Ocean Jasper from Madagascar, one of the most mystical and sought-after stones in the world.

Known as the “Atlantis Stone,” Ocean Jasper is found only along the remote northwestern coast of Madagascar and can only be gathered at low tide when the sea reveals hidden veins within the cliffs. With deposits now finite and increasingly scarce, each piece holds the feeling of something ancient, sacred, and fleeting.

The natural orbicular patterns flowing through the stone resemble cosmic mandalas, waves, and living landscapes shaped over millions of years. In metaphysical traditions, Ocean Jasper is believed to carry the calming, restorative energy of Water, encouraging emotional healing, patience, presence, and connection to the cycles of life itself. A stone of breath, balance, and higher wisdom, it is often used in meditation and spiritual practice.

In “Flash Kiss,” the artists transform this rare geological wonder into a living wall sculpture, blending earth, paint, texture, and stone into a deeply soulful mixed media creation that feels both grounding and transcendent.
