Sedona Arts Center is one of Northern Arizona’s most well-established cultural organizations and serves as the creative heart of Sedona. Founded in 1958, the nonprofit organization is based at the Art Barn in Uptown and offers year-round classes, exhibitions, festivals, and cultural events that enhance the creative life of the Verde Valley. The Center’s Fine Art Gallery promotes the original works

of over 100 local artists and regularly offers special assistance for collectors and art buyers, offers private studio visits, and fosters hundreds of arts education opportunities each year.

We’re proud to celebrate our CEO, Julie Richard, and her feature in The Faces of Sedona and the Verde Valley.

Julie’s leadership reflects the heart of Sedona Arts Center — honoring our nearly seven-decade history while helping shape the next chapter of creativity, education, exhibitions, and community connection.

With decades of experience supporting artists and strengthening creative organizations, Julie brings a collaborative vision focused on expanding opportunities, building partnerships, and ensuring the arts remain an essential part of our community.

Her passion and dedication continue to guide Sedona Arts Center as a welcoming place where artists, students, visitors, and neighbors come together through the inspiring power of the arts.

Fire, smoke, and creative transformation!

Join ceramic artist CJ Henderson for Alternative Firing: A 2-Day Workshop in Alternative Finishings and explore the exciting world of Raku, Saggar, and Obvara firing techniques. Whether you’re brand new to clay or an experienced ceramic artist, this hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind surface effects through alternative firing methods.

Over two Sundays, participants will create their own ceramic pieces and then experience the thrill of watching them transformed through fire and smoke into truly distinctive works of art. Tuition includes clay, glazes, and firings.

We are excited to announce that The Big Gay Art Show will return to Sedona Arts Center on June 5! Just one week away, this juried exhibition celebrates creative expression through artwork created by and in support of LGBTQIA+ communities. The exhibition will run from June 5–28, 2026.

The Big Gay Art Show was conceptualized by a small group of artists and supporters in 2012 and began as a platform to uplift and celebrate LGBTQIA+ voices within the local arts community. Since then, it has become a beloved and highly anticipated annual event, welcoming hundreds of emerging and professional artists to Sedona.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, June 5, from 4–6 PM, and experience this vibrant exhibition celebrating creativity, community, and connection.
