Keshi, the Zuni Connection Keshi is the traditional greeting of the Zuni people from western New Mexico. We continue to buy directly from the Zuni people. Elah'kwa (thank you in Zuni)

Our gallery’s mission is to honor Zuni art & artists through advocacy, education, and ethical trade; to be a blessing and a bridge between Zuni and the wider world. Established in 1981 as a co-op for Zuni arts and crafts, Keshi has always maintained personal relationships with individual carvers, jewelers, and potters. Our reasonable prices and complete authenticity reflect this. We host one of the largest selections of Zuni fetishes in the world and we feel honored to be involved with these kind and generous people. We welcome you to call or visit Keshi and experience a Zuni connection for yourself.

The first fruits of the harvest are a special offering to The Creator, Mother Earth, Father Sky and the ancestors for their blessings. Individually carved corn cobs from apple coral, angelite and iridescent gold lip mother-of-pearl shell are respectfully nestled in crushed turquoise, representing life-giving water. The powerful Zuni Maiden wears an intricately carved feather headdress tipped with red coral, complimented by an inlaid Sunface from turquoise, apple coral and gold lip shell. A natural, gorgeous grey inclusion in the Picasso marble emerges from below the Sunface with electrifying energy as the symbol represents the elements in balance. Elegant facial features are from slivers of jet and coral. A lovely floral necklace is from tiny turquoise and coral inlays. About 3 3/4" tall, 2 3/8" wide and 1 1/8" deep, presented by master carver Hudson Sandy.

Jessica Eriacho and father noted artist Felino Eriacho have said there are many wonderful minerals in Zuni, if you know where to look. The Eriacho's are known for animal carvings hewn from the best local materials. Her latest offering is a wonderful Badger sculpted from Zuni travertine overlaid with Zuni azurite, and both crushed chrysocolla and malachite from the area. We love the vivid colors. The earth-hugging creature's pen shell eyes express goodwill. About 1 7/8" long, 7/8" wide and 5/8" tall.

We love the collaborations between Lynn Quam, Jayne Quam and their daughter, painter Kandis Quam. Here we have a mighty Bear with turquoise eyes smoothly carved from serpentine by Lynn and Jayne. The gorgeous, double-sided work of art has two sides to enjoy. One view hosts stunning Butterflies from bright acrylic paints rendered by Kandis, while the reverse is a nightscape mosaic inlay from crushed chrysocolla, turquoise, lapis, serpentine, magnesite, alunite, abalone, pen shell and rhyolite. About 4 1/8" long, 1 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" tall.

Stewart Quandelacy's stunning Mountain-lion (cougar, puma or panther) is sculpted from glass with golden brown tones that resemble rich maple syrup. The captivating glass specimen holds quiet bubbles suspended in peaceful time. A sweeping tail balances graceful leaps through the rocky wild places of its vast territory. Sky blue turquoise eyes and an alternating heartline or breath path are inlaid from turquoise. About 3 3/8" long, 1 7/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall.

Flowers have sweet personalities and convey a sense of hope, serenity and positivity. Chad Quandelacy's vibrant flower garden, Zuni Maidens and resting Butterfly will bring constant refreshment. The elegantly carved pink mussel shell, apple coral and lapis lazuli blooms are accented with perhaps angel skin coral or spiny oyster shell and turquoise inlays, while the women who are carved from Pacific green snail shell, are adorned with turquoise, red coral and angel skin coral inlays. Overlaid faces are from turquoise, malachite and iridescent mother-of-pearl, accented with jet paste. Etched stars and a Dragonfly decorate them too. Crushed turquoise represents life giving water. Including the base from Picasso marble, this reversible work of happy art is approximately 2 3/8" tall, 2" wide and 1 1/8" deep.
