Named "Picasso of American Indian Art" by New York Times. He was born in Chinle, Arizona and later moved to Taos, New Mexico where he opened up his first gallery in 1968 (and was the first of Native Americans to do so). Gorman Navajo Galleries located in New Mexico, Arizona, and California.
