K. Imperial Fine Art a space for conceptual and formal works that inspire K. Many of our artists explore themes of site-specificity, temporality, and process.

Imperial Fine Art is a contemporary gallery showcasing conceptual and formal works including painting, installation, collage and sculpture with an emphasis on abstraction and works on paper. We exhibit emerging and established artists whose practices are rigorous and dedicated to making work that pushes the boundaries of the media in which they engage. We are located on the fourth floor of the 49 Geary Gallery Building in San Francisco.

Mel Prest creates paintings that seem to shift, vibrate, and move right before your eyes. Through intricate layers of color and line, her work plays with perception—creating a mesmerizing sense of depth, rhythm, and motion.

Based in San Francisco, Prest’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections including the Berkeley Art Museum, Crocker Art Museum, Apple, and Mills College Art Museum.

A beautiful example of how something as simple as line and color can completely transform the way we see.
