Gefen Gallery

Gefen Gallery Contemporary art gallery based in San Francisco, CA. Gefen Gallery is a group of three galleries totaling over 10,000 square feet of exhibition space.

Our first gallery opened at 239 Grant Avenue, the second in the lobby of The Fairmont Hotel at the top of Nob Hill, and the third, our five-story flagship gallery, at 315 Grant Avenue in the heart of Union Square’s shopping district in San Francisco, CA. Gefen Gallery is dedicated to curating and exhibiting contemporary works of established artists from around the world as well as nurturing and su

pporting our emerging artists. Our artists are all renowned for their art and work in a variety of media, from painting to sculpture. We select artists revered for their high-quality work and their tireless dedication to their art. Our Gallery embodies this same work ethic and thus has been at the forefront of the art scene since its inception. This is largely due to our roster of internationally acclaimed and emerging artists including Joel Amit, Patrick Rubinstein, Julien Marinetti, Craig Alan, Terry O'Neill, Norman Parkinson, Björn Persson, David Begbie, Rainer Lagemann, and David Hollier, among others.

New works by Francisco Valverde.

Built through countless layers of pigmented resin, these new works explore colour as a living force — vibrating, bending and dissolving into fields of light.

What first appears abstract gradually becomes experiential, inviting the viewer into a space where perception itself becomes the subject.

“Meditation 61”, now available.

Composed of welded stainless steel link chain, “Meditation 61”reveals Seo Young Deok’s signature meditation on tension, vulnerability, and endurance. The seated figure emerges through a dense lattice of reflective chains, where strength and fragility coexist and the body becomes both presence and enclosure.

From Seo’s Meditation series, the work reflects on materialism, modern isolation, and personal trauma — transforming industrial material into a quiet space of contemplation and peace with the complexities we carry.

Artist Spotlight 【Karla de Lara】

Recognized as the “Mother of Hyperrealist Pop Art,” Karla de Lara transforms wax, industrial dyes, and luminous enamel surfaces into works that shift between abstraction and realism.

Through her mastery of light, texture, and optical perception, her compositions capture the energy of urban culture and emotional memory with striking intensity.

With over 350 solo exhibitions across nearly 40 countries, de Lara has become a defining voice in contemporary Mexican art.

Now on view at Gefen Gallery.
