"Mother never complained then or at any other time that things were too hard. She did not grumble that the weather was too hot or too cold for her, that it was wearying when a day's work was done to wait at corners for streetcars. I am sure that she labored to the limits of her capacities and beyond." ~ Marian Anderson

APRIL 9TH 1939
The Marian Anderson Museum and Historical Society honors this most historic day of April 9th, for tis the day 85 years ago that our great Marian Anderson changed the nation with the great historic footprint that she made giving the first and largest open-air performance in the United States at the Lincoln Memorial after being denied the right to perform of the stage of Constitution Hall. We ask that as you enjoy this historic video that you remember the Marian Anderson Museum and Historical Society.
