Still finishing up projects even though I’m supposed to be retired. This 19th century, rare printed version of the Declaration of Independence was challenging.
It was folded and printed on onionskin paper so it had to be relaxed and carefully hinged to a museum board platform. Then it was floated in a blue silk shadowbox and framed with Optium acrylic and an elegant gold leaf frame.

🎃 Cutest pumpkin in the patch.
Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama confesses to having an obsession with pumpkins that began in early childhood. She is drawn to their form (shape), colour and feel. She has abstracted (simplified) the basic elements of the pumpkin in this work to give it a rather humorous quality.
