The Pensacola Children's Museum (and all other museums of the UWF Historic Trust) will be closed on October 8, 9, 10, and 11 due to the threat of severe weather.

Due to the threat of inclement weather, these two events this week have been cancelled:

October 8: Renee McCord, State Fire Marshall for Fire Prevention Week program from 10:00-12:00 has been postponed. Date tbd.

October 9: Grandma Jenkins Storytyme has been cancelled.

We will update soon on any additional closures and cancellations.

Don't forget if your little one likes to explore their world with their mouth, the museum as Yuck Boxes on both floors to put anything they may have "tasted".

For children, messy play is appropriate to exploring their world, but they are also more vulnerable to bacteria and germs because of that exploration. Thank you!

Join us this October for a month of programs and storytimes!

We will have an Exhibit Exploration in the Colonial Classroom, Grandma Jenkins will stop by several Fridays during the month, and a visit from Renee McCord, the State Fire Marshal during Fire Prevention Week!

And author Bree Sprual will be here on October 13 to share Ariyah's Adventures in Dreamland: Legacy Lights!

Don't forget on Friday, October 16 Historic Pensacola will be hosting Halloweentowne: A Historical Trick or Treat in Historic Pensacola Village from 4:00-7:00. The event is free and open to the public!

We have a field trip this morning at 10:00. The museum will be open to the general public, but please be mindful of the little students exploring the museum.

Check out our September Calendar! We have several programs throughout the month.

The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. As a reminder, we start alerting guests at 3:30 and 3:45 so that they can slowly acclimate children to leaving.

We try not to sell tickets later than 3:45, because younger children do not understand they have just a few minutes to explore. Sometimes it can be very upsetting to a young child when we have to close and they have had only 5 minutes to explore the exhibits.

Time is an important concept for children to learn, but we do not want them to have a negative association with the museum.

Calling all 4th graders!

A wonderful way for children to explore the wonders of our National Parks. Fourth grade families can explore the history and the natural environment at Ft. Pickens in our own backyard. Or travel the states to see all 51 National Parks. Thanks Gulf Islands National Seashore for sharing this!

Public lands and waters are living classrooms. Parents, guardians and educators of 4th graders can help get their students out into public lands to learn about it's many resources.

The Every Kid Outdoors program provides vouchers for 4th graders to receive their own FREE access pass to federal land and waters, granting free entry to over 2,000 public land sites. Passes for fourth grade students in the school year 2026-2027, will be available starting September 1st, 2026. These passes will be valid for an entire year, expiring August 31st, 2027.

Interested in helping your fourth grader get their pass? Download your voucher and redeem it at one of the Gulf Islands National Seashore entrance stations in Florida.

Thank you Gulf Islands National Seashore for inviting us and Historic Pensacola to Junior Ranger Day yesterday!

Our Marvin the Cat is now a Junior Ranger and our Living History staff had a great time brining Pensacola history to life!
