Today is the 75th anniversary of the U.S. atomic attack on Hiroshima, Japan, whose racial underpinnings share many similarities to the police killing of George Floyd. Neither had to happen.
I've recorded and shared the Museum's events for many years. I shot 2016's Military Encampment, but for some reason never posted anything to YouTube at the time. I recently found the footage and created a trilogy out of it. You'll certainly recognize friends and fellow reenactors. Here's the link to Part 1:
Dear Veterans and Friends, Please join us on Monday, May 25th, Memorial Day 2020 as we honor and pay tribute to our military service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Hello, would it be possible please, to share this information on your page ? : BUD RETURNS : Documentary of a 42nd 'Rainbow' Infantryman and His Platoon They need your help to make this documentary possible. If you aren't able to donate - please share! www.gofundme.com/bud-returns Erin Faith Allen have spent much time in conversation with her friend Lockered 'Bud' Gahs about his memories of frontline combat with the 42nd Infantry Division / 222nd Anti Tank Company. Her mission has been to understand Bud's personal role and honor his service, and to compile first hand stories to add to her growing research about these unsung heroes. Bud shared with her that he’d like to go back, one last time, to see some of the most memorable places of his war service. She have teamed up with her friends over at WW2 Nation to bring Bud back to his combat frontlines in Europe. Together, they will make a documentary about his memories and this experience of returning to the battlefields to remember and preserve the story of the men of his platoon and their contribution to our freedom. As a liberator, Bud will be a guest of honor at the commemorations for the 75th anniversary of Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial on May 3, which will be the centerpoint of their journey together. They are asking for support to help raise $12,500 by February 5th, in order to ensure their crew can travel with him to document his time there, and so that they can widen his journey to include the locations mentioned below. Thank you so much for joining with them through your belief in their exciting project of remembrance. Bud, Erin, Lawrence, Ben, and the crew of WW2 Nation. www.gofundme.com/bud-returns
