On Thursday, November 1st the museum will host Executive Director of the Oyster Bay Historical Society and Author Denice Evans-Sheppard for a presenation about her ancestor, David Carll, a free black man from Oyster Bay who served in the 26th United States Colored Troop Regiment in the Civil War. Copies of her book, Footsteps of a Forgotten Soldier, will be available for purchase.
Admission: $5; Free for members and students with valid ID

This Thursday at 7pm the New York Mutuals Base Ball Club will be at the museum to talk about the history of Base Ball (as it was spelled). Raffles will include a handmade 1860's style ball and light refreshments will be served. Admission is $5, free for members and students with valid ID.

The Kid's Summer Series will return to the Seaford Historical Museum this August with two new programs and one old favorite! The series will be run by outreach educators from the Long Island Children's Museum and is open to children in grades K-6. For the second year in a row, these free events will be made possible by the generosity of our community partner Stop & Shop. UPCOMING PROGRAM: On Thursday, April 6th at 7pm, representatives of WINORR- Wildlife In Need of Rescue and Rehabilitation will be exhibiting raptor birds at the museum! Featuring a bald eagle, falcon, red-tailed hawk, eagle-owl, and barn owl, the presentation will explain the importance of these birds within Long Island's ecosystem. Be sure to bring your camera! Admission is free for members, $5 for non-members.
