📸 Opening Reception of Natalie Karpushenko’s Natalie Karpushenko debut U.S. solo exhibition curated by Indira Cesarine for The Untitled Space ✨

Natalie Karpushenko (Natalie Karpushenko) is an award-winning Kazakhstan-based photographer, filmmaker, and environmental artist whose work explores themes of feminine strength, transformation, and humanity’s connection to the natural world. Known for her immersive imagery and meticulous approach to image-making, she creates photographs that merge reality and myth while examining the relationship between women, nature, and collective experience.

Her work has been featured in leading international publications including Vogue France, Vogue Germany, Harper’s Bazaar, Nowness, Forbes Russia, Esquire, Saatchi Online, and Beautiful Bizarre Magazine. Through photography and film, Karpushenko has developed a distinctive visual language that transforms real-world encounters into powerful reflections on identity, belonging, and human connection.

Created in Indonesia and bringing together women from China, Japan, Indonesia, Germany, Sweden, the United States, and Russia, “Rebirth of Woman” is among Karpushenko’s most ambitious and personal projects. Developed over multiple shoots and shaped by the challenges of working within a narrow tidal window, the work reflects the artist’s commitment to collaboration, precision, and collective storytelling. Through the symbolism of the reef as a place of origin and transformation, the piece explores themes of renewal, unity, and the shared experiences that connect women across cultures and generations.

“Exploring The Profound Relationship Between Women and Nature In Award-Winning Photographer’s New Exhibit” 💕 Thank you Asha Dahya GirlTalkHQ.com for the wonderful feature!

“Opening June 25 at The Untitled Space gallery in NYC is a stunning new solo exhibition, “WOMEN OF WATER, WOMEN OF EARTH,” by award-winning photographer, filmmaker, and environmental artist , on view through July 17, 2026. The exhibition marks the artist’s debut solo exhibition in the United States and follows her selection as the recipient of The Untitled Space’s 2026 Solo Exhibition Open Call Award.

Bringing together a selection of works from across Karpushenko’s celebrated photographic practice, “WOMEN OF WATER, WOMEN OF EARTH” explores the profound relationship between women and the natural world. Through evocative images that merge reality and myth, the artist examines themes of feminine strength, transformation, environmental stewardship, and humanity’s enduring connection to the earth and sea.

Across oceans, forests, rivers, and elemental landscapes, women emerge not as observers of nature, but as extensions of it—embodying the rhythms, power, vulnerability, and resilience found throughout the living world.”
