We are hiring! ✨ We’re looking for someone who loves sales, art, and people, and is excited about building something together. We’re still a fairly young gallery, which means we’re not just maintaining something but we are growing and building it together.

Our team is made up of ambitious, creative people with a lot of energy. We work hard, but joy and play are central to everything that we do. We take our work seriously, we just don’t take ourselves too seriously while doing it.

One of the most exciting parts of this journey has been seeing how many people have found us through social media. We hear it all the time: “Oh I know your gallery from social media!” So it felt natural to look on social media for the next person to join our team.

A year ago, a young woman with radiant energy walked into my friend’s gallery in the Lower East Side. Her name was Alexandra Steinacker-Clark, and she was visiting from London, doing research for a book she was writing. She had stumbled into Lyle Gallery on Rutgers Street, while roaming the different art neighborhoods in New York.

I received a message from my friend Lin Tyrpien, owner of Lyle, saying she had just met someone special that I should meet. We arranged an evening out at Fanelli’s in SoHo with our new friend, Alexandra Steinacker-Clark | Art Historian, Author, Podcaster, where we had drinks and food and laughed as we shared stories about our lives.

Alexandra told us about the book she was writing, ”Working in Art: How to Build a Career in the Art World,” and how it grew from her podcast, All About Art, which seeks to demystify the professional arts sector.

I would think about Alexandra over the months that followed, hoping I’d have the opportunity to support her book in some way. Time flew by, as it always does, and a year later, Alexandra reached out to say she was partnering with the art advisory and design studio Salon 21 to launch the book in New York. I was thrilled to welcome them to our new Chelsea gallery for the event.

It was a pleasure to meet Alex Bass, founder of Salon 21 by Alex Bass, who moderated the conversation with Alexandra. Alex was thoughtful, engaging, and incredibly bright, guiding a discussion that sparked many interesting questions from the audience. The room was filled with people who were genuinely curious about the art world and eager to learn from Alexandra’s experience.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I love working in the arts. So much of this community is built on curiosity, generosity, and unexpected introductions. A chance meeting turned into an evening filled with thoughtful conversation, new connections, and a room full of people passionate about building a more accessible art world.

This weekend marks the final days of Cat’s solo exhibition, “Dear New York.” Many of the works are already on their way to new homes, and we’re so grateful for the incredible response to this show.

Bringing Cat’s vibrant, nostalgic vision of New York to our Chelsea gallery has been a true joy. If you haven’t seen it yet, we hope you can visit us tomorrow for the closing day!

“Nature of Nordic Woman: Reclaiming Anger, Eros and Creative Power”
Photography exhibition and live performance premieres June 18 in Tribeca, with public performances June 24 & 25 ✨

“Nature of Nordic Woman” is a multidisciplinary work that traces a journey from numbness, self-suppression and survival, back toward vitality, creative power and aliveness, back to what the artists call our Original Nature. The work explores healthy anger as the foundation of boundaries, agency and selfhood, and eros not merely as sexuality, but as life force, vitality, creativity and connection.

The exhibition features a new body of photographic work by Meeri Koutaniemi, one of Finland’s most celebrated visual artists and photojournalists. Known internationally for her human rights work and reporting from more than seventy countries, Koutaniemi has received numerous awards for her contributions to photography and journalism. In “Nature of Nordic Woman,” she turns her lens toward the relationship between body, nature, and psychological transformation.

The exhibition premiere includes a live psychoperformative experience created by psychologist Iida Mäkikallio and performance artist Ida-Maria Martela. Mäkikallio is a Finnish psychologist, Speaker of the Year 2025, and one of Finland’s most recognized public voices on relational dynamics and psychological wellbeing. She is also well known as the relationship expert on one of Finland’s most popular TV shows, Love at First Sight.

Martela is a trained dancer, performance artist, and facilitator. A former bronze medalist in the Finnish Show Dance Championships, she now works at the intersection of movement, creative expression, and human transformation, facilitating workshops for women to support them in taking up space and claiming their place in the world.

Our friends from Lyle Gallery recently hosted a sapphic garden party during NYC Design Week in our Chelsea sculpture garden. It was a perfect evening, with delicious wine and an intimate group of women, q***r, and nonbinary guests from a wide range of fields: interior design and architecture, law and wealth management, art and design, writing, and technology.

My close friend Lin was smiling radiantly (that’s Lin with her wife Maggie in the window—the life of the party). Lin is a dear friend whom I have admired for many years. She is endlessly creative and has a remarkable ability to attract the warmest and most interesting people into her orbit.

Lin launched .gallery at around the same time I launched ISG. We used to sit around my dining table in Brooklyn, or share beers at Fanelli’s in SoHo, talking about opening our own galleries one day.

And there I was, standing on the second floor of this iconic building on a temperate May evening, looking down at the crowd and thinking: we actually did it.

If you’re around Lin, you’re guaranteed to meet captivating people—and almost certainly guaranteed a laugh. This was the first private event we’ve hosted at our new location, the beautiful glass-and-steel building at the corner of 23rd Street and 10th Avenue that we now share with
