Natia Lemay
Natia Lemay (Born 1985, Toronto, Ontario) is an interdisciplinary artist whose auto-ethnographic practice 24, 2026 explores the intersections of history, identity, memory, and S. NEW space through psychologically charged paintings and sculptural works that use "Black" as both material and conceptual force. Drawing on personal narratives of displacement and lived experience, her work excavates domestic interiors as sites of thes emotional and cultural tension, where figures emerge from and recede into fields of black that challenge boundaries between visibility and erasure. Lemay has exhibited widely across North America, with solo presentations including "Just Short of avage Contact" at Wilding Cran Gallery, Los Angeles (2026), "Manqué Melancholia" at Galerie Nicolas Robert, Toronto (2024), and "Nineteen Eighty-Five" at Yossi Milo Gallery, New York (2023). Her work has been acquired by major institutions, including the High Museum of Art (Atlanta) and the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and she was awarded the Northern Trust Purchase Prize at EXPO Chicago (2024).
