From the Museum of S*x archives: Vamps & Virgins. Opened in October 2004, the exhibition traced a century of American pinup photography, from the private erotic images of the 1860s to the iconic pinup photography of the 1950s. Along the way, Vamps & Virgins explored how the pinup evolved alongside changing ideas of sexuality, femininity, and women’s roles in American culture.
