I hope you all are having a good day!

The Hollywood Times has an article on interesting things to do in NYC, it’s best kept secrets, and we are one of the interesting things to do...

They listed really fantastic choices too and the reporter & his wife were sweethearts and really smart!

They came to the by appointment studio tour and to the Museum 16mm film Secret Speakeasy!

Have a read and I hope you enjoy! Thanks sooo much to them for the sweet article! I hope you all enjoy!

Paul Rubens, P*e Wee, was such an inspiration to so many and his brilliant fun, silly, free spirit inspired you to do more and to smile no matter what! He was named after the P*e Wee harmonica that was made in Japan during the cold war and actually says Occupied Japan on the box, I have one in the Museum collection.

You are looking at the Moviola that edited the first season of P*e Wee’s Playhouse and one of the machines that edited the film P*e Wee’s Big Adventure, nick named Big Bertha by staff. It is part of The Museum of Interesting Things by Appt studio shows and one of my closers of the presentation! Everyone gets to touch it! teehee If you do not already know Tim Burton directed the film. It was his first major film.

At the next 2 speakeasy events I will bring some of my best P*e Wee antiques in honor of him

DOC NYC will host a documentary called “Saving Brinton” today and tomorrow. It follows a man named Michael Zahs and his discovery of some of the oldest movies in the world (1895-1908) in an Washington Iowa basement and his adventures to save them. The films originally belonged to Frank Brinton, a showman and entertainer who showed these movies in the Midwest in the late 1890’s to 1910. In the Saving Brinton film, a lost Georges Mêliés movie is discovered in the collection and you follow efforts to have it restored. And after the film is over, Zahs will show you a second lost Mêliés film, discovered in June of this year, and recently restored, that few people have seen in over one hundred years. November 13 and 14th, follow the link to buy tickets. Might be fun. Thank you for your kind attention.
Just saw you on NJN. Do you ever come to Philadelphia? Would love to see one of your shows. Great job on teaching kids real life history!
