"How do you change the world?" said the painter to the canvas. The canvas stayed quiet. "How do you change the world?" repeated the painter, somewhat frustrated at the canvas' silence. Finally, after yet another bout of tense quiet, the painter gave up and began to paint. Suddenly, as if the colors themselves respired life into the canvas, it woke up and said, "I don't speak until you express, and that's how you change the world!"
Your donations are how Daybreak Arts can provide a space for artists to express themselves. Together we can light the path and provide artists impacted by homelessness access to the resources and platform to flourish independently.

A.M. HASSAN joined our Artist Collective in September 2016. She is from Nashville, TN. Her work has been featured at numerous events and exhibits over the years, including the Art Gallery in the Nashville Parthenon, the Nashville Sign Billboard, and various prominent exhibition locations in Florida. After the theft of a crucial paycheck, she was homeless for a year with her husband. She now uses this experience to educate people about misconceptions of homelessness. A.M. HASSAN is often inspired by scenery around her and elegantly translates her experiences into ethereal paintings.
Liz joined our Artist Collective in July 2022. 😀 Liz lives in Nashville, TN and is working diligently to care for their two sons. Liz’s preferred mediums are acrylic, pens, and markers and contributes a wide range of self taught artistic skills to our collective. When asked about their favorite part of art-making, Liz shared: “The release. It feels like it's trapped inside of me and it feels good to pour it out.”
