National African-American Archives & Multicultural Museum "Journey Stories" Exhibit The Museum is located at 564 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Exhibit hours are Tuesday to Friday from 9 to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

On November 16, 2011 the National African-American Archives & Multicultural Museum will open its doors for public viewing of the Smithsonian Institution exhibit ‘Journey Stories’. ‘Journey Stories’ examines the human drive for freedom. The story is diverse and focuses on immigrants coming in search of promise in a new country; stories of individuals and families relocating in search of fortune, t

heir own homestead, or employment; the harrowing journeys of Africans and Native Americans forced to move; and, of course, fun and frolic on the open road. ‘Journey Stories’ is part of the Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and State Humanities Councils nationwide. The grand opening and reception will also be on November 16th from 6pm-8pm at the museum, it is free to the public.
