Carlos "Kopyeson" Talavera is an artist shaped by graffiti culture whose swift, instinctive style was forged painting in taboo and challenging spaces across Europe, Asia, and Australia. A full-time artist since his residency in Japan in the early 2000s, he carries the energy of someone who has always pushed past the boundaries of his surroundings.
Paired with his work is a portrait of José Ramos-Horta by photographer Peter Badge, the recipient of the 1996 Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless diplomatic advocacy for the independence and self-determination of East Timor, who spent over two decades traveling the world and pleading his country's cause before the United Nations.
Both figures embody a relentless pursuit of freedom, one through brush and spray, the other through diplomacy and decades of exile, and both found ways to transcend their circumstances in service of something larger than themselves.

Carlos "Kopyeson" Talavera es un artista formado por la cultura del graffiti, cuyo estilo veloz e instintivo se forjó pintando en espacios no convencionales y desafiantes a lo largo de Europa, Asia y Australia. Artista de tiempo completo desde su residencia en Japón a principios de los años 2000, su obra lleva la energía de alguien que siempre empujó los límites de su entorno.
A su lado se presenta un retrato de José Ramos-Horta realizado por el fotógrafo Peter Badge. Ramos-Horta fue galardonado con el Premio Nobel de la Paz de 1996 por su incansable labor diplomática en favor de la independencia y la autodeterminación de Timor Oriental, pasando más de dos décadas recorriendo el mundo y presentando la causa de su pueblo ante las Naciones Unidas.
Ambas figuras encarnan una búsqueda incansable de la libertad , una a través del pincel y el aerosol, la otra mediante la diplomacia y décadas de exilio, y ambas encontraron la manera de trascender sus circunstancias al servicio de algo más grande que ellos mismos.
