Here are pictures from yesterday’s Blacksmithing class I gave at Cordell Hull Birthplace. This class was on making a forged meat turner and a meat fork.
Here is also a picture of Ricky holding his finished projects. Yes I have his verbal permission and a handshake to use his picture. I apologize that I didn’t get any pictures of the other nice folks that attended the class. There was a Father and son, who have a building interest in smithing. Also a very nice young Lady from Nashville, who works with a social media building page for Tennessee tourism.( I hope I remembered that right)
It has been an extremely busy past two years folks. Work work, consultation work with other state parks, and Mad Axe Creations.

Here are pictures of a new handle I’ve made and Installed for Retired Command Sargent Major Nichols. As well is the repair I did on an original 1785-1790 folding stool.

Come see traditional craftsmanship in action on Saturday, May 3rd as Bill Maddox of Mad Ax Creations takes on a unique restoration project: repairing the woodwork on a historic wagon!

Bill is a skilled artisan whose work celebrates the beauty and utility of wood. From spoon and bowl carving to handcrafted wooden rakes and even blacksmith items, his creations are as functional as they are artistic.

Stop by to watch him work, ask questions, and explore the art of wood working and old-world techniques brought to life.

Ancient theories are so fascinating.

Here are pictures from this weekends work in the shop. It’s time consuming to remove these parts and disassemble the wagon. I then have to use them as patterns for the replacement parts. Pictures of the metal before snd after cleaning.
