Wow! Is it summer concert time already? 😎🌅 We are thrilled to kick off our 2026 Concert Series this Thursday, June 11 at 6pm with TUBBY, a long-standing project of the amazing Matt Parker. You know the energy Parker brings to the stage—which he will serve up along with a taste of the Big Easy right here in Hartford!

Paying tribute to the rich jazz heritage of New Orleans🎷🎶🎺, especially the many talented saxophone players to come from that city, TUBBY celebrates and shares this joyful tradition. Their mission is simple: bring the soulful rhythms of New Orleans to life — and get people on their feet dancing!

The Sunset Sounds Concert Series is sponsored by the Richard P. Garmany Fund at the ; the Evelyn W. Preston Memorial Trust Fund, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee; and the Ensworth Charitable Foundation, Bank of America.

All concerts will take place outdoors on the terrace at the Amos Bull House, located to the rear of the Butler-McCook Garden at 59 S. Prospect Street in Hartford. In case of inclement weather, the concert will move indoors to the Amos Bull Community Room. For parking information, visit www.ctlandmarks.org/sunset.

What a great weekend with , our First Saturday tours and , with our walk on Sunday on Hartford’s Historic Main Street, where we included stories of Hartford’s role in the cause of Independence.

Luckily, we were able to join a fantastic Sunday afternoon Trails Day walk led by Craig Johnson of the Historic Society of East Hartford, which included the Hockanum River Linear Park and its historic paper mill, later owned by Hudson & Goodwin, connecting this walk to our own through this paper mill which kept the Connecticut Courant going through the efforts of Hannah Bunce Watson and Sarah Sheldon Ledyard!

We were privileged to attend the celebration of this semester’s class yesterday. The student-produced video captures the great work this cohort of grad students and undergraduates have been doing throughout Hartford, to tell our stories and elevate our city (look for our garden cameos!).

We had the great fortune of collaborating with BUILD Fellow last summer at the Butler-McCook House. We send our best as she graduates and takes big steps forward in her career. Moreover, we encourage those in Hartford to learn more about this program and consider partnering with BUILDHartford!

We tell stories of Hartford here at Connecticut Landmarks, bridging past to present and present to future. Join in our storytelling by attending one of our upcoming Historic Hartford Walking Tours or Open Tour Days at the Butler-McCook or Isham Terry Houses.
