On October 3, we brought the past to life at Connecticut’s Old State House for Rochambeau Day, commemorating the historic 1780 meeting of Generals George Washington and Rochambeau — a meeting that helped shape the American-French alliance during the Revolutionary War.⁣

🥁 Marching drums, historic military traditions, and a visit from Washington and Rochambeau themselves made for an unforgettable celebration!⁣

Educators spent the day exploring the complexities of freedom and the American Revolution through presentations, discussion, historic resources, and a walking tour highlighting 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝’𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚.⁣
