It’s in the bag…

SH Modern CEO Sallie Hirshberg shares her perspective on building a fine art collection, much like you would with Birkins, watches, and automobiles—from the joy of living with a work to the lasting value of acquiring something truly finite.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re honoring artist Cat Tesla and the story behind her work.

Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, Cat returned to Atlanta for surgery and began painting again as soon as she was able. That year, she created 50 small paintings from her Cancer series, donating half of the proceeds to breast cancer research.

The following year, Cat was commissioned to create four paintings for a new building at the Winship Cancer Center, where she had received treatment just a year earlier.

As Cat puts it, “So a full-circle moment!”

Today, her Feeling Good and Exhale series continues to reflect the energy, emotion, and resilience that define her work.

We’re proud to represent Cat Tesla and share her work and story this October.

A smile says it all ✨

For World Smile Day, we’re celebrating the joy captured in Alex Katz’s Big Smile (Vivien).

With Katz’s signature bold color, clean lines, and distinctive portrait style, the work transforms a simple expression into something striking and impossible not to smile back at.

She said yes💍✨

An amazing surprise gift for this newly engaged couple by Amber Goldhammer “You + Me” painted just for them. Two little words, one big beginning. 🥂

This is our favorite kind of commission: art that doesn't just hang on a wall but becomes part of the story. Years from now, this piece will still say exactly where it all started. ❤️

Congratulations! Thinking about a custom piece for your own milestone? DM us and let's create moments that become part of a story.

National Family Day 🤍

Some of the most meaningful things we inherit are the stories and words passed down through generations.

For National Family Day, we’re sharing Correspondence by Carol Gove, a mixed-media work incorporating a gift tag from her grandfather.

Gove brings family letters, notes, and personal mementos into her art, transforming fragments of memory into something lasting.

The energy in the room said it all ✨

SH Modern was proud to attend the Ladies Power Lunch in Naples, supporting an afternoon dedicated to women's well-being and community.

The room brought together accomplished women from across Southwest Florida for meaningful conversations, new connections, and fresh perspectives.

We left reminded of the power of community and the importance of creating spaces where women can support one another personally and professionally.

Congratulations to Suzy Sarver and the entire Ladies Power Lunch team for building a space where connection turns into care, and for championing women's health in Southwest Florida 🥂

Here’s to more conversations, more connections, and a stronger SWFL community.

Happy Pet Bird Day!

Birds were a recurring and enchanting motif in the dreamlike art of Marc Chagall, often symbolizing love, freedom, and imagination.

Featured here is Le Jardin de Pomone (The Garden of Pomona), an original color lithograph created in 1968, blending mythology, vibrant color, and Chagall’s unmistakable poetic style.

Discover more of Marc Chagall's works with SH Modern. DM us for details.
