is a non-profit corporation dedicated to preserving, collecting, documenting and interpreting the exciting story of the railroads of America, with particular focus upon the history of Florida's railroads. The Railroad Museum of South Florida, Inc a Florida Not for Profit Corp operates a Interpertive Center housed in a Railroad Depot in Lakes Regional Park. It's Outdoor exhibits include a cosmetic

ally restored 1905 Atlantic Coastline Railroad 0-6-0 Baldwin Locomotive and Tender and a cosmetically restored 1953 Seaboard Airline Railroad Caboose. In addition to the Interperative Center it operates a 1 1/2 mile minature train ride which takes riders on a 15 minute scenic ride which winds through villages and a 100 ft tunnel and over trestle bridges on its journey between lakes and past water features with views of exotic birds and wildlife.

Dominick had the privilege to test run the Soo line yesterday. It hasn’t been running for a long time , but now we have every engine in the fleet, running . Proud day for the Railroad at Lakes Park and all the volunteers!! What a fabulous team we have!!

🚂 The "Liberty Express" will be running from NOW through July 4! Flags from all 50 states, the District of Columbia + 5 Territories will be proudly displayed along the train route!
🕒 We will be operating during our normal schedule:
📅 Monday–Friday: 10 AM – 2 PM
📅 Saturday–Sunday: 10 AM – 4 PM
🎖️ We will also be open 10 AM – 4 PM on the upcoming Federal Holiday, Friday, June 19th, for Juneteenth & Friday, July 3rd, for the 4th of July.

All aboard for a journey through history! 🚂
The Railroad Museum of South Florida operates a FREE 3,200-square-foot museum located in Lakes Park. Located in the museum is an “S” scale model train layout, as well as an overhead “G” scale train, a “live steam” scale locomotive, and artifacts, including an authentic brass bell from a steam locomotive, rail tracks, lanterns, ticket punches, spikes, tools, and baggage carts on display. There is an interactive locomotive simulator, featuring the actual control console from a decommissioned diesel locomotive.

Did you know? We operate a FREE 3,200-square-foot museum located inside Lakes Park. Open 7 days a week; although we do have a shorter summer schedule starting the day schools open in August through September, when we are only open on weekends. Located in the museum is an “S” scale model train layout, as well as an overhead “G” scale train, a “live steam” scale locomotive, and artifacts including an authentic brass bell from a steam locomotive, rail tracks, lanterns, ticket punches & tools on display.
